Licensing agreements stack up for new animated series across all categories.

Speed Racer Enterprises is ramping up its licensing plans for Speed Racer The Next Generation, as well as the iconic 1967 Speed Racer property, inking a number of new US deals.

To begin with, IMT Accessories will roll out indoor and outdoor products through its subsidiary companies Monkey Business and Street Flyers.

Monkey Business will design indoor furniture including beds, storage and organising units, tables and chairs. It will also make outdoor furniture such as tables, chairs and umbrellas. Street Flyers, meanwhile, will produce bicycles and accessories, tricycles, skateboards, scooters, skates, protective gear, fishing rods and pool accessories.

Elsewhere, Saramax Apparel Group has licensed the brands for boy's sleepwear, underwear, pyjamas, robes, blanket sleepers and boxer shorts; young men's boxers, robes and loungewear; sleepwear and intimate apparel for four to 14 year-olds girls; and infant sleepwear, apparel, bottles and frames.

The lines will hit US stores during the first quarter of this year.

Star Ride Kids has been signed up to produce children's apparel such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, sportswear, swimwear and outerwear - all of which are due in the second quarter.

Other merchandise deals include Hanes (packaged underwear), Rubie's (costumes) and DecoPac (cake decorating kits).

Speed Racer The Next Generation is due to begin airing on Nicktoons in May in the US.

"The tremendous support we've experienced from our current and ever expanding list of licensees is impressive and reinforces my confidence in the success we are no doubt going to experience when Speed Racer The Next Generation launches on Nicktoons and performs well," said James Rocknowski, president of Speed Racer Enterprises.
