20th Century Fox ties deal for new game based on the popular movie franchise.
The Ice Age has hit the internet - the 20th Century Fox film franchise that is.
Fox Licensing & Merchandising has signed an exclusive seven-year agreement with Gravity, a developer of online games, for it to publish Ice Age Online, including elements from both the movies.
It is likely the title will be released in the third quarter of 2009. The third Ice Age movie is being mooted for release in the summer of that year.
"It's important for us to have a committed online presence for the Ice Age brand," said Elie Dekel, executive VP of licensing and merchandising for 20th Century Fox L&M. "This agreement will ensure that top notch Ice Age gaming experience will be available to fans online for years to come."
Il-Young Ryu, chairman and CEO at Gravity, added: "We are thrilled to be embarking on this Ice Age project. "Fox is one of the world's most renowned entertainment companies and we're excited to develop an online game based on one of its leading intellectual properties."
