Granada seals deal for a new range of books and a monthly magazine.
Pre-school TV hit Numberjacks is moving into the publishing world, with Granada and makers Open Mind signing a deal with Egmont.
The agreement means that there will be a range of books launched throughout the year, as well as monthly Numberjacks magazine title.
The first wave of books will arrive in August, with further titles being planned for 2009. The range includes storybooks, activity books and novelty books (such as drawing, colouring, press-out pieces and wipe clean). There will also be a Numberjacks annual in the first year.
"We are all delighted that Egmont UK, with their excellent reputation for character publishing, will be the publishing home of Numberjacks," said Kevin Morgan, content director at Granada Ventures. "This exciting property is going from strength to strength and lends itself to a wide range of publishing formats."
