The Walt Disney Company will be using next week's global food marketplace, SIAL 2010, to showcase a range of its licensed products.

On top of this, the firm is also sponsoring the Kids Innovation Award for the second year, while one of its execs will form part of a round table discussion called 'How can we train our children to eat a balanced diet and enjoy it'.

The Disney-SIAL 2010 Kids Innovation Award will be presented at a ceremony on October 18th, during the Trends and Innovations Awards event.

A panel of experts from gastronomy, the media, nutrition and retail - including Bruno Danzel D'aumont, director of food, health and beauty at Disney - will select the winner from the exhibitors which enter innovative children's products.

"Disney's nutrional guidelines are an example of how seriously we take the responsibility which comes with the influence of our brand and characters in terms of kids nutrition," said Embola Ndi, VP of innovation for food, health and beauty at Disney. "I look forward to sharing our best practices at SIAL."
