Worlds Apart has inked a deal with Hit Entertainment for the MDF furniture licence for Thomas & Friends.

The new line will initially include key pieces such as a desk and stool, tables, sling bookcase and storage solutions. Further products are in the pipeline for autumn/winter 2011.

"We are pleased to grant Worlds Apart these additional rights for the Thomas & Friends bedroom sets, and are confident that the company is the right partner to take over and drive forward this pre-school licence," said Laura Clarke, senior director of licensing, Thomas EMEA at Hit.

Lucy Wynn-Jones, marketing manager at Worlds Apart, added: "We're delighted to have been awarded this key MDF furniture licence. It's a perfect match with our successful Home range of Thomas & Friends feature toddler beds, Go Glow lights, inflatable chairs and soft storage items, and will cement our position as the creator and provider of complete children's furniture solutions for retailers."
