NUREMBERG 08: Paris Hilton dolls up

As huge toy trade fair kicks off, Simba unveils new branded line of fashion dolls.

US heiress and gossip mag fodder Paris Hilton is being given the fashion doll treatment by Simba Toys.

The German firm will be unveiling its new line at the Nuremberg Toy Fair, which kicks off today.

The dolls - which will not resemble Hilton looks wise but will 'represent her taste' - are due to be launched in Europe this year alongside Simba's existing doll character Steffi Love.

Simba has signed an initial two-year licence from Hilton and will have a lookalike on its booth at the trade fair, which runs until February 12th.

Hilton apparently chose the miniskirt, party frock, silver streaks in the hair, MP3 player and other items for the dolls.

Surely this doll would get better sales if it was made to look like Paris? It is her face everyone sees in all the magazines and papers. She doesn't have a clothing style which particularly stands out from any other young celebrity and branded dolls are often critised by children for not looking anything like the celebrity. Why pay all that money for a brand and not use her physical apperance?
