As well as a number of homegrown gaming IPs, Sega - one of the most famous names in video gaming - also boasts a healthy collection of licences sourced from outside the games business.

The firm was a major licensee for New Line's most recent cinema hit, The Golden Compass, with a strong performance throughout Europe.

Coming up, a deal with Marvel means Sega will roll out video games for Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk, while it also beat off stiff competition to land the gaming rights for the Beijing Olympics 2008.
