Cartoon Network property turned into live-action film, with a showbiz premiere in London's Leicester Square planned.
Ben 10 is to get the full Hollywood treatment this Sunday (February 10th), as Cartoon Network's new live-action movie premieres in London's Leicester Square to a star-studded audience.
Based on the animated series, Ben 10: Race Against Time follows ten year-old Ben Tennyson as he returns to his home town after a summer travelling across the country fighting evil with his cousin Gwen and Grandpa Max.
The film stars Graham Phillips (Evan Almighty) in the role of Ben, Haley Ramm (X-Men 3) as Gwen and Lee Majors (The Six Million Dollar Man) as Grandpa Max. It is directed by Alex Winter, the star of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.
Merlin's Ben 10 sticker collection will be sponsoring on-air activity around the release and licensees are taking part in providing the goody bags for the 500 fans who won places at the premiere through a series of nationwide competitions.
The bags will include an Omnitrix viewer from Bandai, a Zeon Omnitrix watch, a Ben 10 PS2 game, a badge set and posters from Pyramid, badges and greetings cards from Gemma International and a Ben 10 t-shirt from Blues.
"Ben 10 has proven to be a huge hit for us in 2007," said Graham Saltmarsh, UK licensing director for Cartoon Network Enterprises. "We are really excited about the movie as it has everything a Ben 10 fan would expect; action. suspense and an awesome villan. It's the next step in the Ben 10 adventure and fans will love it."
Ben 10: Race Against Time airs on Cartoon Network on Monday February 11th at 10am.
