The voice of forthcoming Dreamworks' film Kung Fu Panda, actor Jack Black is to host Nickelodeon's 21st Annual Kids' Choice Awards next month.

The star, who also hosted the 2006 event, will front the 'mini-Oscars' event at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion. It lets children honour their favourites from the worlds of film, music, sport and television.

Nominations include Transformers, Ratatouille, Shrek the Third and The Simpsons Movie for Favourite Film; Hannah Montana, Drake and Josh and the Suite Life of Zack and Cody for Favourite TV Show; Avatar, Ed, Edd and Eddy, The Simpsons and Spongebob Squarepants for Favourite Cartoon and Guitar Hero and High School Musical Sing It for Favourite Video Game.

"We couldn't be happier that Jack is back to host Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice, and we're looking forward to seeing what he'll do for an encore on the show," said Marjorie Cohn, executive VP of development and original programming at Nickelodeon.

"Kids adore Jack and his energy and unpredictability are a perfect fit for KCA."
