The WotWots extends Korean presence

ABC Commercial sells children's animation to Kids 1 in the territory.

Hit animation The WotWots is expanding its presence across Korea, with ABC Commercial having sold the show to C4U Entertainment to air on its Kids 1 channel.

The show - which is produced by Pukeko Pictures and made at Weta Workshop - will broaadcast in Korean on the station from March.

The series is already enjoying success in the market with Korean distribution company, Kenny & Co placing it on Kids Talk Talk and JEI TV, with the latter planning to dub each episode in Korean. It was also bolstered by a deal with LG which saw the characters appear on televisions in LG Global retail stores and at a number of consumer electronics shows.

"The WotWots is one of our premium children's brands and the multiple sales into Korea confirms the series is excellent pre-school education content, perfect for this territory," said Natalie Lawley, ABC Commercial's sales manager for Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
