Chorion takes the wraps off four new characters as the hype continues to build for upcoming sketch comedy show.
Four new Mr Men and Little Miss characters have today been unveiled by Chorion, ahead of the debut of the new sketch comedy programme on Monday February 25th.
Little Miss Daredevil (pictured), Little Miss Calamity, Mr Scatterbrain and Mr Stubborn will all be introduced in The Mr Men Show, which will begin its run on Five's Milkshake block at 7.30am two weeks today.
Both Little Miss Daredevil and Mr Stubborn appear in the first episode - Doctors and Nurses - with the ten-minute show made up of a number of sketches. For example, Little Miss Daredevil will be seen taking Mr Quiet on a turbulent tour of the hospital and Mr Stubborn is trying to be persuaded by Mr Happy to undergo a 'carrotectomy'.
The new series takes a markedly different approach to the original TV programme, which was based on the story books. All of the 25 characters have been redrawn and updated to suit the new style of animation and each themed episode features a number of different colourful comedy sketches.
Speaking about the show, its executive producer Kurt Mueller said: "One of the big decisions we made when developing the show was deciding which characters to include. With more than 80 to choose from they couldn't all be a part of the show so we whittled it down to a perfect mix of gender, shape, colour and personality."
British actor Simon Callow is the narrator of the show - as revealed here by Licensing.biz last week - while Fisher-Price is manufacturing a range of pre-school products based on the show including soft toys, playsets, figures, musical toys and vehicles.
Products are due to hit shelves in the autumn.
