Advanstar confirms switch of venue for Licensing International 2009, as predicted by Licensing.biz back in October.
As predicted by Licensing.biz back in October, the 2009 Licensing International showcase is moving from New York to Las Vegas.
Organiser Advanstar confirmed that the event would run from June 2nd to 4th at the Mandalay Bay Resort's conference centre.
"The future location of Licensing International Expo has been reviewed and debated extensively for the past several months," said Charles Riotto, LIMA's president. "In the end, our board of directors felt that relocating the show to Las Vegas is in the best interest of our industry and unanimously supported Advanstar's decision.
"The move will ultimately provide greater growth opportunities for the show and enable us to expand in new directions to include more of the categories our industry represents.
"I fully expect that the show's strong performance over the past several years will continue in Las Vegas and that the industry as a whole will benefit as a result. I encourage all of our members to embrace the move as a postitive step for the long-term health and growth of the licensing industry."

Vegas? A city of spontaneity and good place for bad stage acts.
An ideal location for the good and the great in the licensing world.
I will be taking my golf clubs.

Wow, what a change of venue! Will we get anything done?! We are looking forward to it, as hopefully we can all be in one place (the great Mandalay Bay) and get even more industry networking done (rather than being all over New York).
