Marvel gives the go ahead for a select collection of Spider-Man merchandise.
Marvel has partnered with Pottery Barn Kids, a subsidiary of Williams-Sonoma, to launch a collection of products featuring vintage Spider-Man character art and graphics from Marvel’s original 1960’s comic books.
The collection includes bedding, lighting, play furniture, room décor and accessories, which will be sold exclusively through Potter Barn Kids stores in the States.
The collection represents a change for Marvel, which has focused its merchandising efforts on films, DVD/home videos, video games and action figures.
“High-quality product lines tailored to their specific audience underpins our overall strategy to help elevate the stature of our brands,” Paul Glitter, president of consumer products for Marvel’s North American arm, said.
