Company launches kid-focused subscription titles and special interest publications.
Disney Publishing Worldwide is extending its US magazine business, launching a raft of new titles aimed at children.
The first new magazine will be Phineas and Ferb - which will release bi-monthly. This will be followed up with three special interest publications, all featuring content inspired by Marvel and Disney-Pixar film releases.
April will see the release of Thor, followed later in 2011 by Cars 2 and Captain America. Each will be priced at $9.99.
"We saw with last year's publication of our Toy Story 3 and Phineas and Ferb special interest publications that there is certainly a demand in the market for high quality kids' magazines," said Aparna Pande, VP and general manager, US magazines, DPW. "It's a natural extension of our existing business."
