HAVE YOUR SAY: London versus Vegas

Could Brand Licensing Europe end up benefitting from US show's move to Las Vegas in 2009?
Many concerns have been raised by the international community over the move of 2009's Licensing International to Las Vegas - not least the extra distance to travel.
But could this end up benefitting London's Brand Licensing Europe show?
Hakan Durdag from ELC yesterday told Licensing.biz: “I believe reasons such as these will lead to EMEA based international companies to begin concentrating more heavily on the Brand Licensing show in London from 2009 onwards."
Do you agree?
Will BLE's attendance and exhibitor figures start to reflect the reluctance of some firms to travel to Las Vegas?

I think if Brand Licensing Europe is to really capitalise on any extra international footfall from 2009, then it needs to move from Olympia. As a venue it just doesn't seem like the right fit for such an up to the minute industry as ours.

Vegas - better gambling.
London - better curry.

If there's any spillover from those that don't fancy the Vegas trip then BLE has to be the best positioned to pick that up. Europe is never going to usurp the US as the centre of the licensing universe but it can only strengthen the show.
And really, what does Vegas offer all those Europeans travelling there other than potential Deep Vein Thrombosis?
