Pre-school series to hit the road after new deal with Showtime Attractions.

Showtime Attractions has acquired the live performance rights to Southern Star Entertainment’s pre-school show Raggs.

Currently airing on the Seven network in Australia, Raggs is about a group of five dogs that perform in the Raggs Kids Club Band and hang out in their own clubhouse. The show is a mix of stories, music and dancing, animations and concert performances.

The series is accompanied by home entertainment releases through Paramount – with four titles released in 2007 and further products due to roll out this year.

“Showtime Attractions is one of Australia’s leading suppliers in the provision of premium children’s entertainment,” offered Keith Brown, MD of the firm.

“2008 is an exciting year for our company and this has recently been made even more so with the acquisition of the Raggs licence to our stable.

“Raggs has a fantastic track record as one of Australia’s biggest and most popular children’s TV programmes and we are looking forward to the opportunity of strengthening this even further with well produced live performances across the country.”

Raggs debuted in the US last June and is slated for a full national launch later this year. Internationally it has recently sold to RTE2 (Ireland), KTV (South Africa), IETV (Israel), BNT (Bulgaria) and Kids Central (Singapore).
