Licensing deals starting to add up for Tokyo-pop inspired brand, Lucky Cookie.

New company Fun Crew is aiming to raise its profile in the business having got a number of deals under its belt recently.

First up, the firm – which officially launched at Brand Licensing back in 2006 – has seen its Tokyo-pop inspired design led brand Lucky Cookie snapped up by Van der Erve NV. It will be cooking up a batch of designs for babies, kids and women’s apparel due for launch in France and Benelux in spring/summer 2009.

In addition, Fun Crew has recently launched the official Lucky Cookie website which features games, activities, an e-comic and e-cards.

Lucky Cookie is influenced by Harajuku, which is a cartoonish Tokyo-pop street style.

Fun Crew is pushing the ‘luck’ concept of the brand as a key selling point, especially for cards, gifts and accessories.

Fun Crew was set up by Stuart and Angela Harrison, who each have 15 years experience in the creative, communication media and commercial industries. Stuart designed the concept and characters for Kellogg’s Fruit Winders and was a consultant to the development of the brand. He also produced all of the characters and artwork for the Cbeebies website in 2006.

Co-director Angela writes the back-story and copy content for all Fun Crew properties. She is the author of the first published Spooky Skaters book; a Fun Crew property licensed by Scholastic in 2007.
