Edge Group describes itself as an investment and corporate finance boutique focused on the media and entertainment sector, which has raised more than £120 million.

Its range of funds includes Edge Performance VCT, the UK's biggest single venture capital trust, and a number of Enterprise Investment Schemes.

The Sunday Times reported that the company - which was set up by music industry impresario Harvey Goldsmith CBE and DJ Pete Tong, among others - has made a bid for Coolabi.

Following strong share price activity, Coolabi last week confirmed that it had been approached regarding a potential offer.
