CN extends Bakugan deal

Broadcaster agrees with Nelvana to support animé brand in more territories.
Following its recent US announcement, Cartoon Network Enterprises and Nelvana have extended their relationship regarding animé property Bakugan.
CNE will now serve as the brand's licensing agent for the non-toy related categories across Europe and Africa.
Bakugan has already been a success in Canada and Japan. It is due to launch in the UK on Cartoon Network this year, subsequently rolling out across the rest of the EMEA territories.
"We believe Bakugan is a perfect complement to our strong stable of brands and is a very exciting property to represent and build upon our presence in the boys consumer products market," said Alan Fenwick, VP of CNE for EMEA.
Bakugan is a co-production from Nelvana Enterprises, Spin Master, Sega Toys, TMS Entertainment, Japan Vistec and Sega Corporation.
Spin Master is the master toy licensee, with CNE working to create a comprehensive consumer products program by adding a series of key categories.
