The overall winner of the new Practical Pre-school Best Licensed Property award is Classic Media's Postman Pat, the magazine has revealed.

The accolade recognises the important part that character licensing has in a child's play and development. Each property entered was tested in different professional settings in both the foundation stage and key stage one, including schools, pre-schools and nurseries among others.

Testers said of Postman Pat: "As a brand, Postman Pat is a firm favourite and merchandise is readily available, affordable and well made."

Entertainment One's Peppa Pig came in second place, with testers praising the variety that the property offers.
