WWE reveals Q3 figures

Revenues from consumer products businesses decreased by seven per cent for period.

WWE has reported its results for the third quarter ending September 30th.

Overall, the company's revenues totalled $108.5 million, compared with $109.6 million in the prior year quarter. Operating income was $15.9 million, compared to $20.3 million in the prior year quarter.

Meanwhile, across the firm's consumer products businesses, revenues decreased by seven per cent to $19.8 million from $21.4 million in the prior year quarter.

Licensing revenues were $9.0 million (compared with $10.8 million) as lower toy, collectable and apparel sales more than offset an increase in video game sales.

Revenues related to toys declined 24 per cent, reflecting a challenging retail environment for certain toy categories. Meanwhile, revenue from WWE collectable products declined due to a tough comparison to a successful product lauanch in the prior year.

Revenue from video games, however, increased by $1.1 million - led by sales of the WWE All Stars video game.

Elsewhere in consumer products, home video net revenues were $8.3 million (compared to $7.2 million in the prior year quarter), while magazine publishing net revenues were $1.9 million (compared to $2.6 million the prior year).
