Raft of new deals signed for Spongebob Squarepants and Dora the Explorer in region.
Nickelodeon Consumer Products has got the year off to a strong start in the Asia Pacific region, securing a number of deals for Spongebob Squarepants and Dora the Explorer.
First up, in Japan, Spongebob will launch across apparel, mobile phone covers and accessories and candies through new deals with Jun, Gourmandies and Mac Style respectively.
In addition, NCP is working with Japanese fashion brand Secret Base on a Spongebob-inspired line, licensed through Grace.
Further deals in Japan have been signed with Laundry for apparel and with Seconds on digital cameras that include a built-in Spongebob photo frame.
Moving on, and in the Philippines, Chibuzo International Corporation has signed up to supply Gummy watches featuring both Spongebob and Dora, until autumn 2013. Also in the Philippines, NCP has secured a deal for Spongebob premiums with Starkson Packaging which supplies J&J and Mister Donut.
In Taiwan, new deals have been signed with Fuh Guann Plastics and Shin Dun Enterprise, for lanterns and cushions respectively.
In Thailand, Great Profit Telecom is working on Spongebob mobile phone accessories, with the deal offering the potential to export outside of Thailand to the South East Asian markets.
Spongebob will also be appearing on bedding accessories in Thailand via Lee Rung Charoen, while City Toys is lining up a collection of toy product; Fancy Art has adult apparel; Nation Egmont has signed up as book licensee for both brand; Sien Hua Tai is on board for umbrellas and raincoats; and Aera Sport has signed up to produce Dora footwear for children.
