Jakks picks up The Walking Dead

The toy company will make TV games based on the AMC zombie apocalypse drama.

Jakks Pacific has announced a licence with AMC to distribute and market a new line of The Walking Dead Deluxe Plug It and Play TV Games. 

The Canadian firm is set to show off its new product at the CES ShowStoppers Media Preview Event.

In the game, players can take on a multiple levels of zombie adventures with a pump and shoot shotgun controller which plugs into the A/V jack found on the majority of TV sets, with no console or software needed.

"The Walking Dead series is hugely popular and is the perfect property to add to our ever-expanding portfolio of Plug It In & Play TV Games titles," said Michael Bernstein, SVP of marketing at Jakks Pacific.

"Our plug and play games continue to resonate with casual gamers by offering all the latest trends in gaming, such as real-time point and shoot gaming in an easy-to-use plug and play platform. The Walking Dead is the US' most watched cable drama in the 18-49 demographic.
