Production company Red Kite Animations has bolstered its team, with the appointment of Leanne Preston as development manager.

Preston was formerly development executive at Nickelodeon, spending six years with the firm. During her time with the kids' network, she worked on the development and production of original content globally for a range of projects, including House of Anubis.

In her new role at Red Kite, Preston will be responsible for sourcing and developing new content for children's TV. Having set a development strategy in place, Preston and her team will be looking for new projects and ideas to add to the slate.

"Leanne is joining us at an incredibly exciting time as we continue to expand our content and IP portfolio," explained Ken Anderson, executive director and chief creative officer at August Media Holdings, the parent company of Red Kite. "Leanne's extensive background and knowledge will strengthen our development team even further as we continue to maximise our animated content appeal to a global audience."
