THQ continues partnership with WWE for launch of latest console title.

THQ, Jakks Pacific and WWE are continuing their lucrative relationship within the video games space - revealing that WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2009 is in development for a number of console systems.

Since launch in 1999, the series has shipped more than 37 million units worldwide. The latest title will roll out in the autumn on Microsoft's Xbox 360, Sony's PS3, PS2 and PSP, Nintendo's Wii and DS systems, plus mobile devices.

"The ambitious cross-platform launch of WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2008 last year yielded tremendous growth for the franchise, as we delivered multiple gameplay experiences across seven platforms and greatly expanded our audience of WWE video game fans," said Bob Aniello, senior VP of worldwide marketing at THQ.
