Firm secures worldwide distribution rights for CGI animated series.

Entertainment Rights will be unveiling new CGI animation Shelldon to international broadcasters for the first time at MIPTV next week.

The firm has the worldwide distribution rights (excluding Thailand and with shared representation in Japan and Korea) for the 26x30-minute series. The deal covers all forms of television, digital media, home entertainment, music, licensing, merchandising and all other media.

"We are thrilled to be working with Shellhut Entertainment," said Chloe van den Berg, executive director for international at ER. "Shelldon is a vibrant and beautifully produced CGI show, with positive universal values that the whole family can enjoy together and the series is set to become an instant international success.

"Through the Shelldon acquisition, ER is building on its successful strategy for developing third party relationships with both producers and rights owners and is a key strategic focus for the company which complements ER's growth in developing its wholly owned stable of properties."

Shelldon aims to educate children about marine life and creatures that live in the sea. It is predominantly targeted at four to eight year olds, aiming to exploit engaging environmental themes which are accessible to younger kids. The overall message sees the characters involved in making the world a better place.
