Cbeebies goes Large

Channel commissions second series of Coolabi's The Large Family pre-school animation.
Based on the books by Jill Murphy, The Large Family is made up of 11-minute episodes and follows the life of an animated elephant family. Some 26 episodes will be part of the second season.
Since its debut, the series has sold to territories like Australia, Portugal, Iran and Sweden. International sales are being handled by BBC Worldwide, which is also planning a major licensing and merchandising drive.
"We are delighted to be continuing such a successful relationship with Cbeebies," said Julian Scott, head of children's programming at Coolabi Productions. "The Large Family has already demonstrated its appeal to the pre-school audience and captivated a legion of fans, who will be excited to see their favourite family of elephants back on screen."
Michael Carrington, controller of Cbeebies, added: "I'm thrilled that Cbeebies is continually able to attract such great talent and expertise to work with us."
