Children’s publisher to print a range of books based on hit greeting card brand.
My Cat Pip licensing agent KJG Ltd has announced a worldwide publishing deal with Hodder Children’s Books.
Hodder will produce a range of books based on the popular greeting card property for children aged over three years old.
Four books will initially be published in March 2013, including dress-up sticker books, lift-the-flap and ‘Where’s Pip?’ books.
My Cat Pip first appeared in a range of greeting cards which have sold over one million units to date. They’re available in UK outlets as well as Moonpig.com and pipthecat.com.
Hodder joins other licensees including Aurora for plush, Ethos Concepts for toiletries, Vista Stationery and Print for calendars and year planners, Alligator for gift bags and Robert Frederick for stationery.
Other licensees include Bluebird Brands, Shreds and WW Group.
My Cat Pip has sold strongly in the UK, Russia, France and Australasia, according to a press release.
Anne McNeil, publishing director for Hodder Children’s Books, said: “My Cat Pip is a terrific addition to our stable of picture books and growing licensing list. It’s a unique character who will sit perfectly alongside Wibbly Pig and Kipper, and friends.”
KJG director Kirsty Guthrie added: “My Cat Pip’s bold illustrations and distinctive cute style is easily recognisable and lends itself perfectly to the publishing arena. We are really looking forward to working with the team at Hodder Children’s Books to create a lovely range of books that we are sure will be welcomed by My Cat Pip fans.”
