Second season of the pre-school show is ordered by Canada’s CBC ahead of Mipcom.
Kids and family media company Brain Power Studio and distributor Bejuba Entertainment have secured two broadcast deals for Fuzzy Tails ahead of Mipcom.
The animated/live action cross has earned a season commission from Canada’s CBC while Bejuba has concluded a deal with Disney Channel Australia for the first series, and is also in talks with further international broadcasters.
Fuzzy Tails uses animal actors to put a ‘modern twist’ on fairy tales. For example, Little Red Riding Hood as played by a duckling, Tugger the dog is cast as a Prince and Lizard Louis only takes roles that don’t interfere with his sleeping.
Tatiana Kober, president of Bejuba Entertainment said: “We have had an excellent reaction to the series from both buyers and children. The ‘Aww’ factor is outstanding. We have begun closing sales and are very pleased to have the Disney Channel in Australia already on board.”
Beth Stevenson, founder of Brain Power Studio added: “We had an incredible amount of fun making this series. Filming actors that can give you a cuddle in between takes is wonderful. Also by combining the natural charm of live action animals with the creative animation from Gallus Entertainment, we achieved a look that is both nostalgic for shows we grew up with, like “Hammy Hamster” and current for young audiences now.”
