Deal with Rovio will see new range of books for the world's largest mobile app.
Egmont Publishing is to launch a range of Angry Bird books, after inking a deal with Rovio Entertainment.
The firm will launch a double-sided joke book in time for Christmas - with the furious birds on one side and the pigs on the other. It will be priced at £4.99.
Further publishing in 2013 will include a Punch Out book and a Search and Find title.
The launch will be supported with advertising on kids' websites and targeted communications on Egmont's social media presences. Other digital activity will include interactive competitions and features online and in print, plus advertising in 147 primary schools throughout the UK, reaching 39,000 kids.
"We know how popular Angry Birds has become with children and we are really excited about the launch of our publishing," said Emma Cairns Smith, licensing acquisitions director at Egmont UK. "Books will continue to grow the brand at retail and we are confident of strong sales after an extremely positive response from retailers."
