Firm signs master gaming agreement for eagerly awaited film Despicable Me 2.
Universal Partnerships & Licensing and Illumination Entertainment have secured a master gaming agreement with Hasbro, which will see the firm create lines based on Despicable Me 2.
Hasbro will develop games including Monopoly, Operation and two collectable Minion Pod games, where players launch Minion pods to battle against each other and complete missions.
Hasbro joins global master toy licensee Thinkway Toys and master domestic apparel partner Hybrid in the Despicable Me 2 licensing programme.
"We are excited to join with one of the world's most well respected branded play companies as our global game licensee for Despicable Me 2," said Stephanie Sperber, UP&L president.
Eric Nyman, SVP and global brand leader for Hasbro Gaming, added: "We can't wait to bring the film's hilarious story to life in the gaming space for the first time and give fans new ways to collect their favourite Minion characters."
Each of the four games includes collectable Minions that can be played across the entire line. The games will be available from summer 2013.
