Firm to handle toy and gaming categories among others for 2D animated adventure and action series.
4Kids Entertainment is building up its portfolio - signing a representation deal for new animated adventure series, Beastkeeper.
The firm will represent the toy and gaming categories worldwide, along with all other categories for licensing and merchandising in the UK and Ireland for the property.
Beastkeeper has been co-produced by Starbright, Mondo TV, Ponpoko Productions and Kappa Edizione. It is made up of 52 13-minute episodes, with TV deals due to be announced shortly across multiple territories for a 2013 launch.
The story follows a boy with no memory of his past and of unknown origin, but he is in possession of a magic artefact called Spin Shell, which grants him the power of controlling the Beasts.
"Boys will absolutely love Beastkeeper - it combines action, adventure and exciting scripts with stunning animation," said Sandra Vauthier-Cellier, MD of 4Kids Entertainment International.
Starbright president, Giada Paterlini, added: "We are delighted to be working with 4Kids in developing a strong licensing and merchandising programme in the UK and Ireland, and appointing a global master toy licensee for this exciting and unique series."
