Andersen Press readies Elmer's Big Art Parade

‘We can’t wait to see what all the different artists do with such an iconic canvas, all in aid of some worthy charity partners – this is one elephant parade you can’t miss,’ says Andersen Press’ Libby Hamilton.

Elmer sculpture trails are set to join Britain’s towns and cities, thanks to a new deal between Andersen Press and creative event producers, Wild in Art.

Inspired by the iconic children’s book, Elmer’s Big Art Parade will feature 1.1 metre tall Elmer sculptures and will make their first appearance in 2019, 30 years since the first book was published.

“We’re excited to be linking up with Andersen Press, an organisation that shares our belief in the power of creativity to shape lives. Elmer is a beloved classic and firm family favourite that promotes positive messages about inclusivity, bravery and friendship,” said Charlie Langhorne, director of Wild in Art.

“By transforming the elephant into a blank 3D canvas for beautiful artwork, Elmer’s Big Art Parade will trumpet these values by sharing stories through visual art, giving communities a voice and uniting businesses, artists and young people.”

The location of the sculpture trails will be revealed during BLE 2017, where Elmer statues will be displayed throughout the show.

Libby Hamilton, picture book editorial director at Andersen Press, added: “Elmer has a very special place in our hearts and the hearts of millions of readers around the world, and we couldn’t think of a better partner for him than Wild in Art.
