Bandai gets Noddy in Spain

Chorion appoints firm as official toy distributor for property in territory.

Hot on the heels of Chorion appointing NSR, Spin Master and Lansay, it has added Bandai Spain to its list of Noddy licensees.

Bandai Spain will take on the role of official toy distributor for the property in the territory. Last week, Chorion revealed NSR as master toy licensee, Spin Master as UK distributor and Lansay as distributor for France and Benelux.

With Noddy gearing up to celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2009, numerous activities are planned, with extensive consumer and retail marketing complementing a brand new 52-episode TV series, a fresh toy line and a new live experience.

Further deals are due to be revealed soon.

"With such an important year ahead for Noddy, we are putting in place a strong licensing programme for the property," explained Eric Karp, EVP of global licensing at Chorion. "We believe that Bandai Spain has the experience and credentials to help build the Noddy brand in Spain."

Raul Guerrero, general manager of Bandai Espana SA, added: "We are thrilled to be working with Chorion on such an exciting pre-school property like Noddy which has proved its strength and power around the world. We believe that the Bandai, NSR and Chorion partnership will bring Noddy to the top of the market in Spain."
