The BBC has unveiled its car-studded full line-up of new presenters for the 2016 reboot of its hit entertainment show Top Gear.
Dubbed the ‘magnificent seven’, the new cast featuring Formula One commentator Eddie Jordan and German racing driver Sabine Schmitz will join US star Matt Le Blanc and Chris Evans when the new series launches in May.
They will be joined by journalist and YouTube star Chris Harris, car reviewer and TV presenter Rory Reid and of course, the Stig.
The new team has been selected to offer a broad spectrum of personalities to help engage with a range of audiences and Top Gear viewer ‘from the family who enjoys the entertainment values of the show, to the fanatical petrolhead.’
‘It’s a magnificent seven sent from motoring heaven,’ said Evans about his co-stars. ‘Well, six plus one. Six plus me.’
Top Gear is set to play a prominent part in BBC Worldwide’s annual showcase for international buyers taking place in Liverpool later this month.
When it launches in May, the new Top Gear is expected to go head to head with its former host Jeremy Clarkson and his new as yet untitled Amazon series featuring former co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond.
