Big and Small costumed characters to help promote new books
CBeebies TV show Big and Small will take its popular characters on tour across the UK this October in line with a new range of related books set for release by HarperCollins.
The Big and Small tour will take place in five locations this October half-term to meet fans of the series. The tour will take place in various shopping centres across Manchester, Bolton, Preston, Birkenhead and Folkestone.
The announcement follows two new deals for Big and Small owner Kindle, the first with Namco Europe to produce plush toys, the second with Heroes for Kids to develop a new e-commerce portal.
Earlier in the summer the tour was given a trial of sorts at Longleat, where Big and Small costume characters met over 2000 fans. The new tour is being organized in association with leading property company, Warner Estate, which owns and manages the shopping centres.
“Big and Small’s Big Tour 2010 is a tremendously exciting new adventure for our much-loved characters,” said Kindle director Anne Brogan.
“The appearance earlier this year at Longleat proved to us just how popular the characters are with children and adults. We decided to extend the opportunity to our fans by taking Big and Small on their very first tour, which also celebrates the new range of books being released from HarperCollins.”
