BLE 2012: Five-year Ice Age Live tour unveiled

A Mammoth Adventure will debut at Wembley Stadium on November 2nd.

20th Century Fox has taken this years Brand Licensing Europe event as a chance to announce details of Ice Age Live: A Mammoth Adventure.

Partnering with Stage Entertainment Touring Productions, the arena show will premiere at Wembley Arena on 2nd November 2012, before heading off on a five-year tour to arenas around the world.  

Tickets are now on sale and preview shows will take place at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff from the 19th to 21st October and Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena from the 25th to 28th October.

The show will feature songs, ice-skating; aerial arts, puppetry and film with a storyline inspired the first three films of the franchise with characters putting on their skates including Scrat, Manny, Diego, Sid, Ellie, Peaches, Buck, Eddie and Crash.

Tailored to suit the venues, Manny the Mammoth will stand at an impressive height of 3.5m, a length of 5.4m from tail to tusks, and a width of 1.2m whilst a new character, Shadow the evil bird, has a total wing span of 5m.

“We’re extremely excited for the global premiere in London when fans can experience Ice Age in a new incarnation, featuring characters and storylines that hold new licensing opportunities for this booming franchise.” 

The show will be co-directed by Guy Caron and Michael Curry with a storyline set to the music and lyrics of Ella Louise Allaire & Martin Lord Ferguson. The set has been designed by David Shields.
