Born to Shop grows in Australia

New ranges of ceramics, mugs and homewares to hit stores in May 2010.

Paper Island's Born to Shop brand is continuing to make in-roads into Australia and New Zealand, with two firms launching fresh ranges next year.

Hot Topic Australia and Talisman Licensing will roll out new lines of ceramics, mugs and homewares from May 2010.

"We have been interested in the Born to Shop brand for many years and have watched its growth in Australia and New Zealand carefully," said Kiro Stojanoksi, MD of Hot Topic. "The biggest potential for us has always been in products for the home and within stationery. In working with Talisman Licensing, we have now secured rights for categories beyond our core activity."

The firm is looking to consolidate its position in the Australian mass market later in 2010 with garden tools, photo frames and kitchen accessories, along with bed linen.

Daniel Feller, MD of Talisman, added: "The style and art of the Born to Shop brand along with its irreverent humour is what appeals most to retailers and consumers in Australia and New Zealand. This timeless brand has struck a chord with mass market retailers throughout the territory this year."
