Licensee event highlights sales successes and upcoming marketing activity.
Forthcoming plans for Chapman Entertainment brands, Little Charley Bear and Raa Raa the Noisy Lion, were unveiled to partners at a recent special licensee event.
During the day - which took place at the offices of Chapman's licensing agent, CPLG - licensees were told of promising sales for the first Raa Raa DVD, Welcome to the Jingly Jangly Jungle.
A radio campaign to support the launch has already started which concentrates on the show's key educational benefits, helped by a 'jungle' pack distributed to presenters including a copy of the DVD, toy and press release. Theme tunes and sound bites have also been provided for use on air.
Plans for marketing activity for Raa Raa and Little Charley Bear were also revealed which will include another version of the successful nursery outreach programme, social networking activity and consumer PR.
A series of Easter 'meet and greets' and shows will be taking place featuring Raa Raa and Ooo Ooo in the Westfield shopping centres at Shepherd's Bush, Derby and Merry Hill supported by The Entertainer. The store will be offering a free Raa Raa DVD with every purchase from Tomy's Raa Raa range and the chance to take part in a competition to win a Raa Raa goody bag.
In addition, there was also positive news for Little Charley Bear, with Blues Clothing and Zap reporting strong sales of their outerwear and beddling lines, plus Aykroyds enjoying success at retail with its nightwear range in Mothercare and Sainsburys.
The release date of the fourth Little Charley Bear DVD - Charley on Safari - was also confirmed for May.
"The licensee forum was a great success and allowed licensees to share their current and future plans for Raa Raa the Noisy Lion and Little Charley Bear," said Valerie Fry, commercial director at Chapman.
Vickie O'Malley, CPLG UK MD, added: "Being able to meet with our community of Chapman licensees presented a fantastic opportunity to share ideas and success stories, and is a wonderful way to maximise the vast potential that exists for both these exceptional brands."
