"The Scream Street characters have such strong universal appeal and significant most importantly, huge untapped potential in Italy."

Coolabi Group has announced the appointment of licensing agent Antlanyca to represent comedy stop-motion animated series Scream Street in Italy.

The news follows Atlantyca’s announcement of a broadcast deal with Italian national public broadcaster Rai for the 52 x 11’ series to air on dedicated kids and teen channel, Rai Gulp, from Monday October 30th. The show has already proved a hit on CBBC with new episodes launching on the channel later this month. Broadcast rights have also been acquired by ZDF in Latin America, India, Portugal, Norway and Finland.

Antlantyca will pursue a diverse range of licensing initiatives for the hit series in Italian-speaking regions.

“We are over the moon to be giving Scream Street such a brilliant platform in Italy, and we are delighted to be working with such a great licensing agent such as Atlantyca which holds many successes under its belt," commented Fée Heyer, senior licensing manager, Coolabi Group.

"Scream Street has proven to be a massive TV hit property in the UK and we are confident that it will reflect the same in Italy too.”

Marco Piccinini, licensing manager, Atlantyca added: “The Scream Street characters have such strong universal appeal and significant most importantly, huge untapped potential in Italy. We are so really excited to be working with the team at Coolabi and look forward to working together to help extend the brand into new and exciting product areas that kids are going to adore.”

Scream Street is produced by international media group and rights owner Coolabi (Beast Quest, Clangers, Poppy Cat), with Walker Books’ production division, Walker Entertainment, as executive producer. The show is co-produced by Altrincham animation studio Factory (Clangers, Newzoids, Strange Hill High), and the renowned puppet and model-makers Mackinnon & Saunders (Fantastic Mr. Fox, Frankenweenie) have created the cast ensemble.
