Coolabi takes Poppy Cat to the US

Firm secures US broadcast deal with pre-school channel Sprout.

Sprout airs 24-hours a day, in over 50 million American households and it’s VOD service is the top choice for younger children with over one billion views in total.

Michael Dee, director of content at Coolabi said: “We are thrilled to be breaking into the competitive US marketplace.

"Securing an American broadcast deal for a UK-produced show is notoriously difficult, but clinching the deal before the show has even aired in the UK is a real coup for Coolabi. Sprout is the ideal home for Poppy Cat in the US.”

Poppy Cat premieres in the UK on Nick Jr in May and the show has 52 x 11-minute episodes.

The show has been pre-sold in a number of other territories including Nick Jr Australia, RTE Ireland, YLE Finland, TV2 Norway, and TVO, SCN and Knowledge Network in Canada.
