Firm appointed US and Canada licensing agent for classic books and TV series.
Plus Licens has appointed CopCorp as the licensing agent for book and TV property Pippi Longstocking.
CopCorp Licensing will act as the licensing agency for the brand – which first took book readers by storm in 1945 – in the US and Canada.
Plus Licens & Design has produced a Pippi Longstocking Live Action style guide, with posters, postcards, greeting cards, bedding, puzzles and games on the way.
“Pippi Longstocking is one of Scandinavia’s most iconic contributions to popular culture”, said Plus Licens & Design president Peder Tamm.
“The charm, reach and staying-power of the classic live-action adaptation starring Inger Nilsson is truly impressive. We are happy to now welcome CopCorp as agent and trust that we will see many more examples of Pippi’s amazing strength.”
CopCorp Licensing president Carole Postal added: “We are excited to be able to share Pippi not only with those who already know and love her stories, but also with whole new generations of fans.”
Nils Nyman, CEO of film production firm Saltkrakan AB, commented: “We're happy to see CopCorp Licensing appointed for North America.
“As owners and protectors of Astrid Lindgren’s literary estate, it is vital for us to work with partners that understand and respect the specific qualities of her works. Plus Licens & Design has proven to be such a partner and we are confident that its choice of CopCorp as sub-agent will ensure that all the values of Astrid Lindgren’s works are preserved.”
