Monthly title to launch in the UK on February 16th, with content reflecting the values of the show.
Discovery Communications' publishing partner, DC Thomson, will be launching an official Animal Planet magazine in the UK on February 16th.
The title will target seven to ten year olds and will aim to reflect the core values of the TV series. Published monthly, issue three - on sale in April - will include an exclusive covermount of an Animal Planet journal.
"We're incredibly excited that DC Thomson is launching Animal Planet magazine, which will be the first magazine launch for Discovery in the UK," said Ian Woods, licensing director at Discovery Enterprises International, Europe. "The official publication will be a highly visible and extremely powerful extension of the brand in the UK and will provide a natural home for our licensing partners to showcase their product ranges to target consumers."
Anna Kennedy, editor in chief of Animal Planet, added: "It's a pleasure to be working in partnership with Discovery on a strong and vibrant brand like Animal Planet. We're really looking forward to seeing the publication flourish."
