Debut Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic is a sell out

Second print run due in October after huge initial demand.

The first comic in IDW Publishing's new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line has been a sell out, just a week after its launch.

The firm launched the new series with Nickelodeon on August 24th in comic stores throughout North America. A second printing with a new cover will now arrive in October.

IDW aims to offer a new take on the original series, with the first issue telling the origin of the story of the Turtles and introducing a new villain, Old Hob.

In addition to the new comics, IDW will also offer Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Collection. Launching in October, volume one will include over 300 pages, such as Mirage Studios' issues one to seven and special one offs.

Nickelodeon is currently readying a new TMNT CG-animation, due to air in 2012.
