Special edition of The Beano released tomorrow begins Year of the Menace.
The Year of the Menace officially begins tomorrow (Wednesday March 16th), with DC Thomson releasing a special issue of The Beano to kick off Dennis the Menace's 60th anniversary celebrations.
The special issue, marking the character's first appearance, will begin a focus on classic giveaways such as catapults and pea shooters. US President Barack Obama, plus PM David Cameron, Deputy PM Nick Clegg and Labour leader Ed Milliband will also be offering support.
"There's no question that Dennis continues to appeal to kids of all ages and he remains the quintessential menace," said Beano editor, Mike Stirling. "Children want to be like him and really challenge the establishment - that's why he continues to appeal.
"It's a huge honour to be immortalised in The Beano and, as a big comic fan, we would expect President Obama to be thrilled to be recognised by the world's most famous comic."
Away from The Beano, Dennis is also licensed across a wide range of consumer products, while a Beano musical stage show is in development.
