DHX Brands marks Teletubbies anniversary with album

Big Hugs will be released in the UK later this month to celebrate the brand’s 20th anniversary.

To mark 20 years of the Teletubbies, DHX Brands is rolling out a new album featuring a mix of songs from the series.

Dubbed Big Hugs, the album has been developed with ABC Kids and The Children’s Group, and will be available digitally and on CD in the UK from September 29th.

“For 20 years, pre-schoolers have been singing, dancing and saying ‘Eh-oh’ along with the Teletubbies, so what better way to celebrate the iconic brand’s 20th anniversary than with a new album?” said Linda Noelle Bush, music manager at DHX Media.

“The Teletubbies saw tremendous success with the release of their original album in 1997, which was championed by Simon Cowell. The single Teletubbies say Eh-oh was a Christmas number one single in the UK, selling more than one million copies. We look forward to enchanting a whole new generation of Teletubbies fans with the release of this new soundtrack.”

Narrator Daniel Rigby lends his voice to many of the songs found on the album, including the title track, Big Hugs, Bottom Bump Song and Tiddlytubbies Songtime.

19 songs complete the tracklist, which also feature the Teletubbies and Voice Trumpet, Teresa Gallagher.
