President of Marvel Entertainment will now be responsible for licensed product across EMEA.
Disney has appointed Simon Philips as general manager of consumer products EMEA.
In his previous role, as president of Marvel Entertainment International, Philips was responsible for targeting new businesses, and growing and increasing penetration of Marvel's existing businesses in EMEA, Latin America and Asia Pacific.
He joined Marvel from 4Kids Entertainment, where he served as MD. Philips started his licensing career in 1991 in London working on behalf of the British Olympic Association.
A Disney statement sent to Licensing.biz read: "We can confirm that Simon has been appointed General Manager of Consumer Products for The Walt Disney Company EMEA.
"This includes our licensed product, publishing and Disney Store business. He will also be responsible for optimising retail activity across the region as well as lead our physical games distribution."
Disney acquired Spider-Man brand owner Marvel in 2009.
