Drayton Manor boosts Thomas & Friends rooms

Number and range of rooms increased due to strong demand at hotel.

'Phenomenal' public demand at Drayton Manor Hotel has led to the number and range of themed Thomas & Friends family rooms being increased, the resort has revealed.

The hotel already has 11 Thomas & Friends rooms, which have been booked solidly since it opened. Now, four existing deluxe bedrooms have been converted into deluxe Thomas rooms to add an increased level of comfort and to accommodate demand from guests.

The rooms are more spacious than the existing ones, and can accommodate families with up to four children.

They include themed bunk beds, with a DVD player fitted to each bunk, as well as unique hand-painted scenes on the walls and ceilings to depict a different character from the series.

"The Thomas & Friends rooms have proven to be extremely popular with guests ever since we opened last August," said the hotel's general manager, Martin Wright. "The response we've had from visitors who have stayed in these rooms has included children not wanting to leave, to families booking their return stay almost immediately.

"One of Drayton Manor Theme Park's unique selling points is that it has Europe's only Thomas Land, which has been a massive success since it opened in 2008, so it's no surprise that these Thomas & Friends rooms have also been incredibly popular."
