Before joining the Workshop, Wells previously worked at WWE and Viacom International Media Networks.
Sesame Workshop is welcoming Ed Wells to the team as its new head of international media and education.
As part of his role, Wells will manage Sesame’s international offices while also overseeing all production, distribution, themed entertainment, education and licensing businesses.
“Ed has a long and distinguished track record of building brands and operations throughout the world,” said Steve Youngwood, COO of Sesame Workshop.
“He also comes to us with great passion for our mission to help kids everywhere grow smarter, stronger, and kinder. As we work to reach even more children and families internationally, we’re thrilled to have Ed on board to lead the charge.”
Prior to joining the Workshop, Wells worked as EVP and head of international for WWE, where he was responsible for the global strategic development of WWE’s brand and businesses.
He has also served as VP and general manager of Nickelodeon during his tenure at Viacom International Media Networks.
