Minecraft: The Survivors' Book of Secrets will be the first fictional title based on the hit video game franchise and will land this June.
Egmont Publishing is to release a slate of new Minecraft books this year including the franchise’s first fictional title.
Minecraft: The Survivor’s Book of Secrets will hit stores in June this year while Minecraft: Exploded Builds will follow in October.
Egmont’s best-selling line launched in 2013 with four handbooks that stormed the top ten of the total book chart for over 11 weeks in 2014. It was followed by the launch of the Blockopedia, the first hexagonal book that hit the number one title spot in the non-fiction children’s chart in 2015.
“People continually ask me the secret of our success with Minecraft and the answer is simple: we are passionate about publishing what children love to read in beautifully designed formats they love to collect,” said Cally Poplak, managing director, Egmont Publishing UK.
“Our Minecraft books are a brilliant illustration of outstanding editorial and design that speaks to the fans and of content curation that perfectly complements the online experience of a phenomenal game.
“I am thrilled that our collaborative partnership with Mojang continues with yet more ground-breaking books over the next few years and I think the Minecraft community will be too.”
Hitting shelves on June 16th this year, Minecraft: The Survivors’ Book of Secrets is a fictional account of a group of Minecraft experts who have been around since the early days of Alpha.
Meanwhile, Minecraft Exploded Builds: Medieval Fortress is a medieval themed building book filled with guides, schematics and inspirational ideas to construct and build your own castle.
The title lands on October 6th 2016.
